Twilight fan

After seeing the previews on tv i got very curious about Twilight. Then about 2 weeks ago me and my sister went to the movies to watch it.Wow what a good movie! I instantly fell in love with it. Then one of our roommates got the first book of the Twilight Saga. He let us borrow it and i finished it after 3 days. The book seems more detailed and for me makes you fall in love more even though the movie was great. My sister got the 2nd book the New Moon and i just started reading that one but i stopped on chapter 3 because i got sick the past few days but i'll start reading it soon. For all those people who like the movie and love reading about suspense, drama and superstitous things i recommend reading the Twilight Saga... Here they are..

Christmas time!!!

Wow its almost Christmas again, the only time where love and care is in the air at its highest peak, well for me i think. Christmas here in the states is quite different from Christmas in the Philippines. Well both countries light up there neighborhoods with beautiful Christmas lights and decorations but in the Philippines they have there specialty called lanterns (parol). There are many designs some small, some big, some made out of glass(capiz) and giant ones also! Here in the states you can usually tell which house has the Filipino family living in it cause they have a lantern hanging. Kinda funny but usually its true! But experiencing Christmas in the Philippines once really made me look at it in a whole new way.Traditionally in the states we just dress up kinda formal then go to church, after that bring all the gifts we have for our relatives then go to our uncles/aunties house and of course theres lots of food which they prepared for all visitors. Well i was kinda young so as kids we just wanted the gifts and money hehe.. But in the Philippines i have discovered new stuff like "simbang gabi" where you go to church early in the morning usually 4:30am but they also have it a night every 8 or 9 pm and you go to church for 9 days which will end on Christmas day. If completed without any absence you are granted 1 wish and 1 wish only which they say will come true. Well based on my experience they really do come true,it might not be instant but in time it will come. Plus when the Yuletide season is near they start making deserts like bibingka, puto, kutchinta and puto bong bong which i love to eat after going to church. I also love eating cashew tarts where some of my friends and i use to work in making them. I can say there good for gifts!

Puto bong bong Bibingka Puto and Kutchinta

I only completed simbang gabi 3 times my whole stay in P.I.(10 years). When it hits the 24th there's a mass at 11pm and in tradition all of your relatives go to church at Clark Air Base(Pampanga) then exactly at 12am the mass is done, everyone greeting each other "Merry Christmas!",the choirs are sing Christmas carols and were ready to go home and eat food we cooked( Noche buena). Its a Christmas eve celebration. Just thinking of those days, buying new clothes before Christmas, going to church with friends and family, eating the seasonal food and walking up to a Christmas morning where you can see tons of people walking and going to there relatives house so they can bless/(mano po)kiss the hands of elders,(ninongs/ninangs)God Father/God Mother and get the Aginaldo, its basically money as a gift hehe!!! Once your old they stop giving you it haha!!! All i can say even if my family's here and also lots of relatives it seems different because they all have there own priorities when its Christmas. If ever we meet up we just greet each other Merry Christmas, give gifts, eat then leave and stay at home.Dont get me wrong but its always a pleasure seeing my relatives but its lacking that spark i feel in the Philippines and plus all my close friends and special people in my life are there. That's why i dont enjoy Christmas here. Its just Christmas isn't Christmas without YOU.

Christmas maybe the happiest time of year for some people but for others it may the saddest. There's always the less unfortunate so give them a hand if you can and reach out and help anyone and give love on Christmas day but only if you want!
